Kozhabergen zhyrau, the burial site
Located in the village of Blagoveschenka (Zhambyl district, North Kazakhstan region).
Kozhabergen Tolybayuly (1663-1762, Gultobe area) - Zhyrau, Great Steppe narrator, military leader, statesman. Kozhabergen was brought up from a young age by his uncle - the famous batyr Zhalantos. While studying in Bukhara, Samarkand and Urgench madrassas, he studied Arabic and Persian languages, Islam and Oriental literature. He repeatedly headed the diplomatic embassies of Tauke Khan to Central Asia: the Kokand, Bukhara, Khiva Khanates, as well as the Turkmen and the Persian kingdom. An important part of life and official activity of Kozhabergen zhyrau is connected with the name of Tauke khan, under which a set of norms of customary law "Zheti zhargy" ("Seven regulations") was drawn up, which defined the basic principles of law and order and state structure. Kozhabergen Zhyrau was one of the authors of the code.
In 1688, on the outskirts of Turkestan, leaders of Kazakh clans headed by Tauke Khan elected 25-year-old Kozhabergen zhyrau ordabasy, i.e. commander-in-chief of the Khan's troops. About feats of Kozhabergen zhyrau, who for 22 years (1688-1710) headed the united troops of Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Karakalpaks, Nogais, Barabinsk Tatars against external enemies, poems and dastans were added. Kozhabergen is the author of the famous song and dastan "Elim-ai" ("Oh, my homeland"), which he wrote in 1723 during the Dzungarian invasion. This work consisted of seven parts, only the fourth part was preserved. In the sad song of weeping zhyrau expresses the feelings and aspirations of his compatriots, a deep love for the Fatherland.
According to the information of the collectors of creative heritage, Kozhabergen Zhyrau was also a skilled musician, composer, blacksmith, jeweler, hunter, healer. Kozhabergen Zhyrau is a singer of folk destiny. He described the most important historical events of his time, as well as praised some outstanding representatives of his time. Information about Kozhabergen Zhyrau's work is contained in "Kyrgyz chrestomathy" of Y. Altynsarin (1879, 1903). A number of works are kept in the manuscript collections of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M.O. Auezov.
Mazaar is a holy place where Kozhabergen Zhyrau is buried, symbolizes gratitude and memory of an outstanding akyn, musician, Kazakh batyr, glorious commander, associate of Tauke Khan, who since 25 years of command of the Khan's troops. His name is fairly returned to the people. Restoration of interest to history of the people, outstanding personalities of the past gives unique possibility to estimate a civil feat and creativity of Kozhabergen zhyrau.
Jubilee celebrations dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Kozhabergen's birth took place in Kazakhstan and became a significant phenomenon in the cultural life of the country. The Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan marked this date at the national level, and the events dedicated to it, were held in many regions of the country. This event was timed to coincide with the publication of the book "Mangilik elding zhyrshysy".
The mazaar was built in the summer of 2001 at the Tolybay Dynasty Cemetery.
It is a monument of historical and cultural heritage.
