Excavations on the right bank of the Ishim

The detachment of the Ural-Kazakhstan expedition of the Chelyabinsk University continued to study the monuments of the Bronze Age in Northern Kazakhstan. In the Grafskiye Razvaliny burial ground on the right bank of the Ishim River, 16 burial mounds were unearthed. In the central part of the site, earth mounds 10-16 m in diameter and 3-0.8 m high were excavated, containing one or two burials according to the burial rite in soil pits. On the periphery of the burial grounds, children's burials were recorded. In two cases, horse burials were found near the main graves at the mainland level. Accompanying inventory is represented by vessels of Early Alakul type.

In the southern half of the grave field, mounds with a diameter of 6-12 m and a height of 0.2-0.4 m are made of stones and rubble over a single grave pit, averaging 2.5*2.3*1.2 m in size, with a latitudinal orientation. The walls of the pits were decorated with wood. Burials are made according to the rite of cremation and are accompanied by vessels of the Fedorovo type, gold and bronze beads. Around the tomb structures, open flats 0.7-1.5 m wide and 0.3-0.8 m deep, filled with stones that had slipped from the embankment, were traced.
