The expedition of the Chimkent Pedagogical Institute began the study of the Altyntobe burial ground in the Bugun district of the Chimkent region, 15 km southwest of Chimkent. The burial ground is located on the left floodplain terrace of the Akbulak river and has more than 300 mounds with earth mounds 20-30 m in diameter and 1-2 m high. The dromos, 5.2 m long, began outside the mound on the northeast side and adjoined an oval burial chamber measuring 2.4x1.5 m, elongated from the northwest to the southeast. Four skeletons were found in the chamber, three of which were oriented to the southeast, and one - to the northeast. The burial inventory is represented by a red-engobed polished mug with a double handle, a mug-jug with an image of a horse inscribed on the side, a miniature censer, and fragments of two kitchen vessels. The previously opened burials date back to the 1st-3rd centuries.
