The expedition detachment of the Ural Pedagogical Institute continued excavation of barrows in the construction zones of the Mamaev hydroelectric complex and the Iskalikol irrigation and watering system. In the Furmanov district of the Ural region, in the interfluve of the Small and Big Uzen, in the burial grounds of Kosoba, Mamai and Rybny Sakryl I, 17 burial mounds with loess mounds 18–32 m in diameter and 0.5–1.0 m high were excavated. 32 burials were found. Burial structures of the Savromato-Sarmatian period are represented by large oval and square pits with ledges along their long sides and with sidewalls; Pecheneg-Polovtsian and Golden Horde times - rectangular pits (one with a wooden ceiling) and four pits with lining.

The latter are located in square structures built of mud-brick (40х20х10 cm).

The inventory is varied. These are jewelry (paste and stone beads, bronze and gold earrings and bracelets, miniature gold plaques, pyramids with three ledges along the edges, figures of two coiled snakes, stamped images of birds with outstretched wings), weapons (fragments of a massive sword, iron daggers, bronze trihedral and three-bladed iron arrowheads), ceramics (a miniature red-clay amphora, a black earthenware cup-shaped vessel with two curly side handles), mirrors of various types.
