Metalworking workshop in old Turkestan

In the field season of 2021, during archaeological research on the western shore of the Togan city reservoir, a metalworking workshop was discovered and opened. A excavation was laid on the territory of 55.5 x 37.7 m, which revealed a single ensemble of structures consisting of 24 rooms, the walls of which are laid out of raw brick and pakhsa. A metal production workshop was investigated, which included residential and industrial premises related to metal processing and the manufacture of finished handicraft products. The work was carried out along the upper construction horizon dating from the 19th century.
