Archaeological and Ethnological complex expedition of Kainar University

One of the results of this expedition was the so–called mound No. 1. This mound is located 100 meters west of the horticultural society "Altyn Alma" and 350 meters south of the Almaty - Esik highway. Virtually all the burial mounds of the Issyk burial ground were looted, with the exception of only one, where an undisturbed royal burial was discovered in 1970. This fact of the preservation of an elite (large) mound in the archeology of the early Iron Age of Kazakhstan still remains the only one, since most of these monuments are usually robbed either in antiquity or at a later time.
