The Medieval settlement of Kastek and the Kastek Pass in written sources

The Kastek pass, according to the sources, was formed in the 7^th century. And it was the main node until the 19^th century. The results of archaeological research have shown that the Kastek 1 border checkpoint, located to the north of the pass, performed the functions of registration and control of trade caravans. During the excavations, material data were found, indicating that for a certain period of time Kastek was one of the most important points of regulation of trade relation.
