The Medieval settlement of Kastek and the Kastek Pass in written sources
The Kastek pass, according to the sources, was formed in the 7th century. And it was the main node until the 19th century. The results of archaeological research have shown that the Kastek 1 border checkpoint, located to the north of the pass, performed the functions of registration and control of trade caravans. During the excavations, material data were found, indicating that for a certain period of time Kastek was one of the most important points of regulation of trade relation.
