Research conducted in the medieval city of Kyshkala in 2021

The 2021 study is a continuation of the archaeological excavations at the monument, which have been underway since 2018. In 2021, exploration was carried out in the vicinity of medieval Kyshkala in order to determine the historical and topographic structure of Kyshkala and stratigraphic excavations in the central part of the city, in the economic zone 1- excavation was continued, the section of 2020 was expanded (8-excavation), 9-section was laid in the central part of the city, and in order to determine defensive system 10-excavation was laid.

 As a result, repeated studies were conducted in 6 medieval cities (cities and settlements of Zangarkala, Egembai, Saykuduk, Kozhakazgan, Tokseitkala), 7 previously unaccounted cities and settlements were discovered and accounted for (Madiyarkala settlement, Zhainy settlement, Zhainy fortress, Saykuduk I settlement, medieval cities of Ush Asar 1,2,3).

During the research conducted in Kyshkala, the historical and topographic structure of the city was revealed, a mausoleum of two rooms from the 1st excavation, a mausoleum of 10x10 m size of the 8th excavation were opened. Materials defining the life of the city were removed from excavation 9, and from excavation 10 it was found that the castle surrounding the city was built in two stages.
