Archaeological expedition of the Aktobe Regional Center of History, Ethnography and Archeology
The Sapibulak burial grounds and the Autodrom have been investigated. The monuments are located on the territory of the Aktobe region and are confined to the upper Ilek basin. The purpose of the work is to introduce into scientific circulation new data on the mirrors of the early nomads of the Southern Urals, obtained in recent years, and to correlate the materials with existing ethno- and chronocultural schemes. Five bronze mirrors were found in the Sapibulak burial ground. Only two mirrors were found in the Autodrom burial ground. The presented mirrors date back to the end of the VII century BC. The most ancient are the mirrors from the burial of 3 burial mounds 6 of the Sapibulak burial ground. Mirrors in Sarmatian society played a significant role in the implementation of religious cults, especially those associated with animistic beliefs
