Kazanshy, the mausoleum

According to the military tradition of the Turkic peoples during campaigns the food is prepared for thousands, tens of thousands of sarbazes, putting in rows hundreds of cauldrons. A person who distributes meat or other food from the cauldron in order is called a Kazanshy. In modern terms, this is a chef or head of the food supply department of warriors. At the same time, Kazanshy are engaged in the correct distribution of dishes during the big celebrations, funerals and the Nauryz holiday. Kazanshy is, as a rule, an elderly man who knows well the traditions, order and etiquette of the Kazakh food culture. During large social events, he can distribute dishes according to the status of distinguished guests.

Kazanshy's mausoleum is made of bricks 34×16×10 cm in size and covered with clay on the outside. Later on, a fence, a sagana made of mud brick, was built on its western side. The central-dome type of the mausoleum, characterized by a high, cone-shaped dome, is installed on a quadruple. In the middle part of the dome there are round light holes.

The entrance is located on the southern side. The transition from the quadruple to the dome is made through the barrows. In the center of the mausoleum there is a tombstone made of mud brick.

The Kazanshy mausoleum is on the list of historical and cultural monuments of local importance. The object of pilgrimage and religious tourism.
