Kabylisa zhyrau, mausoleum

Kabylisa zhyrau Asanuly (1733-1824) - a well-known public figure, poet, zhyrau, participated in the reflection of Dzungarian aggression. Kabylisa, son of Asan, from the young years has declared himself as a talented akyn. The first poetic performance as an akyn took place at the age of 15 at the contest with his rival Tumarsha. Over the years, the akyn's skill has been perfected, and his name has gained popularity among the people. During the struggle against jugglers Kabylisa zhyrau together with Eskeldy and Balpyk bies, Orak Batyr led the relocation of zhalaiyrs from the banks of the Syrdarya River to Zhetysu, on the banks of Ile and Karatal. During his lifetime, he was nicknamed Kaban akyn for his sharp poetic word, courage in military campaigns against Dzungars, independent and direct character. Kabylisa has visited in Dzungar captivity, but by a miracle has remained alive, participated in election of Abylai as the khan on the sacred ground of Turkestan. As a famous Kazakh bi Kabylisa contributed to the peaceful resolution of conflicts with the Kyrgyz, as well as fairly resolved court cases, disputes within the family, calling on the people to honest work and harmony.

Kaban akyn left a lot of sayings, educational teachings. Kabylisa's poetic works are full of deep philosophical meaning and worldly wisdom, transmitted in a language understandable to the people. So, in the verses "Happiness, where are you coming from?" and "Happiness, where are you going?" it reflects on the content and worthless aspects of life in the form of questions and answers. Kabylisa zhyrau was a participant of many poetic contests of akyns - aityskers, in the majority of them he came out the winner. His heartfelt, deep meaning and content of improvisation discouraged any opponent, admired the skillful play on the dombra. Many akyns of Zhetysu considered Kabylisa zhyrau their teacher, praised his wisdom, ingenuity and speed of thought, high poetic skill. Akyns of Sarah Tastanbekkyzy, Kenen Azerbayev, Suyunbay, Sarbas, Bakhtybay expressed this assessment in their poems. Saken Seyfullin recorded and processed aitys of akyns Kabylisa and Koyan. The works of poet were studied by Myrzatay Zholdasbekov and Oraz Ismailov, Sarsenbi Dautov and many other famous Kazakh writers and poets. Philologist A.M. Kanagatova in her studies found much common in the works of Bukhar zhyrau and Kaban zhyrau.

According to popular legend, Kaban zhyrau was a true visionary. While living in conversation with Batyrs Otegen and Raiymbek, he predicted to them the places of their future eternal rest. So, the prediction of Kaban about the transfer of the grave of Otegen Batyr by descendants from the bank of the "smoothly flowing" river Ile to an elevated place so that it did not remain under the waters of the Kapshagai reservoir. The prediction of Kabylisa to Raiymbek that his burial place would be in a crowded place was also true. Indeed, Raiymbek batyr was buried along the road from Almaty to Tashkent. The ashes of the Kaban itself rest near the spring on the bank of the Ile River among the thick reeds. In the initial period of independence in 1993 in the Koksu district of Almaty region was widely and solemnly celebrated the glorious three-century anniversary of Kabylisa Zhyrau. In the Soviet time in 1954 the descendant of akyn put a memorial stone on the grave of his grandfather Kaban zhyrau and planted a tree, another descendant in 1977 set a marble slab.

Kabylisa zhyrau mausoleum is a monumental memorial complex. The mausoleum is a portal dome in the style of a white light rotunda with a dome upwards. Granite steps lead to the noble white stone mausoleum, and a memorial stone with the poet's name is installed in the tomb. At the grandiose entrance arch there is a stylized symbol of knowledge, made in the form of an open book. On the marble pages the words of the will of the great ancestor to his descendants, written by Kaban zhyrau in the year of his 90th birthday, shortly before his death, are inscribed: "Darkness is not eternal, the light is always in my people".

The sacredness of the object is due to the fact that the preserved heritage of Kabylisa Zhyrau (Kaban akyn), which was worshipped and imitated by many akynas of Zhetysu, has become a truly golden treasure in demand in the upbringing of today's and tomorrow's generations of Kazakhstanis. The mausoleum of the famous akyn, batyr and fortune-teller is a monument of history and architecture of republican importance, a famous place of pilgrimage and religious tourism.
