Description

The monument is located on a low hill, 0.5 km northwest of the village of Kenotkel in Zerendy district of Akmola region.

Mazar is located in the central part of the Kazakh cemetery, which occupies an area of 3.2 hectares of the left bank of the Koshkarbai River and is surrounded by dense vegetation. Until recently, the burial place of Balkadisha had a fence, and only in 2005 a rectangular structure was erected, architecturally designed in the form of "tort kulak", measuring 2.3 × 3.5 m.

In the north-western part of the mazar, on the outside there is a tombstone with data on the date of birth and death, the ancestral affiliation of Balkadisha, as well as two lines from the Akan-Sera song "Balkadisha".

Balkadisha was born in 1883 in the village of Kenotkel. The father of Balkadisha - Ybray was at one time a very truthful person and had a good reputation among the Kazakhs of Kokshetau. Balkadisha Zhylkish's mother died when the girl was a teenager. At the age of 21, Balkadisha married Suleiman, the son of Masabai, who was six years older than her. Together they lived for 40 years and raised five children: two sons and three daughters.

Balkadisha gained special popularity in the Kazakh steppe thanks to the song Akan Sera. According to legend, once in the village of Musa Montai, located in the foothills of Zhylanda, there was a big celebration about the birth of a child (shildehan). The famous Sery Akan was present at this holiday. By that time, Akan Sera was in old age, and grieved greatly because of the loss of the steed Kulager. There was an opinion among the people about the psychological deviation of Akan Sera. He restricted himself in communicating with people and lived secretly from society. All this had a negative impact on people, and no one wanted to sit on a female shildehan near the famous sal sera. Noticing this circumstance, Balkadisha, who has a delightful external beauty and spiritual kindness, made a voluntary decision and, to the surprise of many present, sat down next to Akan Sera. At that time, Balkadisha was already engaged to Suleiman, and the wives of his two older brothers came for her that evening. Noticing this unpleasant moment, Akan Sera, understanding the essence of the situation, gave permission to Balkadisha to get up from the table. Balkadisha, who struck with her elegance, wisdom and good manners, became an object for improvisation of Akan Sera. The song "Balkadisha" quickly spread across the steppe.

Balkadisha is a symbol of female beauty and wisdom. In 2015, a monument to Balkadisha was unveiled in the village of Zerendy. Balkadisha died on April 27, 1950, at the age of 67.

Mazar Balkadishi is a place of pilgrimage.
