Description

Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz is a legendary image often found in Kazakh folklore. Characterized as a saint. In the epics, he acts as an inspirer and assistant to the main character. For example, in "Alpamys Batyr" Baybori in a dream saw a saint Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz, who predicted the birth of a son and a daughter. From that moment he became a spiritual patron for Alpamys. According to legends, Baba's entire body was covered with hair and his name is translated as "a hairy, respected ancestor". Iskhak baba and Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz were among the first spreaders of Islam, who introduced Kazakhs to the new religion only by the power of the word - sermons and without bloodshed. In South Kazakhstan there were bloody battles for the faith. The Turks were a strong resistance to the Islamic troops. In 767, Iskhak Baba came to Turkestan and Syrdarya to bring the doctrine from Arabia. Iskhak Baba made Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz his deputy commander. There is a legend, as for one day Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz turned into Islam 200 thousand people by force of belief and conviction. Mukhtar Auezov in his journey through the south of Kazakhstan recognized Iskhak Baba and Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz as Arab generals and disseminators of Islam.

The mausoleum is single-chamber, facade composition, entirely rebuilt on the old boot foundation of burnt brick in the face masonry. The quaternary volume is crowned with a spherical dome on a cylindrical drum. The facades are smooth, without decoration. The main one - with the entrance in the center - is accentuated by a shallow lancet niche and two guldast towers on the corners of the building. In the interior on the axes of the square room are made lancet arches on which the dome rests through thyroid sails. The walls are plastered and whitewashed. In the center of the room there is a brick tombstone.

It is a monument of local importance. The object of pilgrimage and tourism.
