Description

In 1918 Semey was officially proclaimed the capital of the Alash autonomy. Zarechnaya Slobodka was named the city of Alash. Here was the government of Alash-Orda under the leadership of Alikhan Bukeikhanov.

The city complex of the State Historical, Cultural and Literary Memorial Reserve-Museum of Abay includes the house museum «Alash arystary - M. Auezov», the first in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan museum dedicated to the history of the «Alash» movement. The year of the house construction is unknown, it was acquired by Aniyar Moldabayev by the purchase of the fortress from the merchant Moskvin.

During the visits to Semipalatinsk, Abay and his sons stayed in this house.

The house of Aniyar Moldabayev was the meeting place of activists of the Alash movement. In 1919-1920, Alikhan Bokeykhanov and Myrzhakyp Dulatov lived here with their families. It was here that the strategy of the movement was discussed; the plans for the struggle for the freedom of the Kazakh people were built.

In September 1997 to the 100th anniversary of the birth of writer Mukhtar Auezov the museum exposition «Alash arystary and Mukhtar Auezov» opened in the house.
