The trading house was built in 1899. (1899) designed by the Ural architect (contractor) Batov for merchant A.I. Derov. After the revolution, shops of Torgsin, Kaztorg, Sibtorg were located in this building, and after the war – gorpishchetorg, kultorg and oblknigorg. During the war, part of the building was occupied by a park room with a library of the city party committee and evacuation hospital No. 2448. Since 1977, the building has been transferred to accommodate the exposition of the Regional Historical Museum named after G. Potanin. The southern wing of the Filatov house, adjacent to the building, is united by the museum, is its administrative part. The monument was restored in 1978-1982 by the project of the institute “Kazproektrestavratsiya”.
