Description
Akuyuk burial ground is an architectural monument. It is located near the village of Shetpe. It consists of three preserved Sarmatian mounds of the 1st century BC and more than 20 architectural monuments of the beginning of the 19th century and the end of the 20th century. Among them there are 4 large saganatams and 3 domed tombs. The largest of the Sarmatian mounds was excavated in 1930. One of the most beautiful creations on the territory of the Akuyuk burial ground is the mausoleum of Orazaly's wife Tazhi, built in 1914. The area is 6,24x4,20 m., the height is 8.6 m., in 1924 the south-western corner was destroyed.
