Description

The monument was erected in the village of Zhanibek. The bust is cast in bronze, fixed on a pedestal. The base is red in color, consists of polished granite. The height of the pedestal is 3.30 m. The size of the pedestal is 55x70 cm. Tile stone-420x470 cm. There is an inscription “Hero of the Soviet Union Manshuk Mametova. 1992-1943” on the pedestal M. Mametova was born in the village of Orda, West Kazakhstan region on July 5, 1922. In 1942, she voluntarily joined the ranks of the Red Army and went to the front. She was considered as the best machine gunner in the unit. She was promoted to the rank of senior sergeant and appointed a commander of a machine gun crew.

On November 16, 1943, Manshuk Mametova died heroically in the Battle under of Nevel.

By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 1, 1944, Senior sergeant M. Mametova was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
