Description

The monument is located on the open area of the northeastern coast of Lake Korzhynkol, 24 km north-east of the city of Ereymentau.

Sakkulak, real name Sabelen (Sabden), was born in 1800 in the vicinity of Lake Korzhynkol. He was a bi and an orator from the Kanjygaly family. Great-grandson of the great commander Bogenbay batyr. After the contest with the great orator from the Altai family, Baidaly bi, the name Sakkulak was fixed to the people behind Sabden.

Oral art Sakkulak bi took over from his father Bapan and developed from an early age. His oratorical speeches contained deep thoughts about the philosophy of life, science, history and steppe heroism. There are numerous oratorical writings of Sakkulak bi, including "Baidaly bigeaitqany", "Bul da bіr ghalymnyng bіrі edі-au", "Orman-togay zher syny", “Tort narseden qashyk qyl”,"Musanyngolimine aitqany".

Initially, the mausoleum was built by Sakkulak bi for his son Nuraly. After the time, this place became a family pantheon. The mausoleum was made of mud brick measuring 33×140×70 cm. Architecturally, it is an octagonal dome structure, the front door of which is located on the east side. The edges of the facades of the building had aryk niches in two parallel rows along the perimeter. The degree of preservation of the monument is lower than satisfactory, since the main part of the southwestern wall of the mausoleum is destroyed to the lower rows of the structure. The highest altitude is fixed at 2.5 m.

Inside the mausoleum there are four burials with tombstones (koktas), including an old tombstone with inscriptions in the Latin alphabet with the following content:

1 Akmolalyk kan-

2 jygaly Bogembay

3 tukymy belgili

4 taryikjy Eraly

5 kart 85 zhasynda

6 1932 27.VI oldi.

Thus, the mausoleum can be attributed to the architectural monument of the XIX century and the clan pantheon of the descendants of the commander Bogenbay Batyr. Currently, the mausoleum of Sakkulak bi is a place of pilgrimage.

In 2000, measures were taken to preserve the mausoleum. A sarcophagus was installed, stylistically repeating the architectural parameters of the mausoleum itself, that is, presented in the form of an octahedral centric dome structure. In 2006, the mausoleum was surveyed by the Department of the Code of Scientific and Practical Enterprise under the leadership of G.M. Kamalova.

The mausoleum is a local architectural monument.
