Description

This object is located 22 km west of Uzynsu village (Irtysh district, Pavlodar region). It is a mausoleum installed at the burial site of Taymas aulie.

Information about life and activity of Taymas aulie was reflected in the book "Tugel Batyr and his descendants" of local ethnographers M. Zhamanbalinov and A. Badelkhanov. The data of local lore specialists were based on the oral traditions, sacredly kept among the representatives of Kypchak tribe of Pavlodar Irtysh region. Taymas aulie was a native of Kypchak tribe, Bultyn Kypchak subdivision, subgenus Ozhyrali-sagal, descendant of the famous Koblandy Batyr. His father Tugel was a famous Batyr, who made a significant contribution to the reflection of the invasion of Dzungars in the era of the national liberation war of the XVIII century. Tugel Batyr, along with the Batyrs of Zhazy and Koshkarbai gathered militia and defeated the Dzungars in the struggle for the steppes of the Irtysh region.

According to legend, in one of the campaigns Tugel Batyr charmed beautiful Kalmyk girl Karakoz - the daughter of the Kalmyk clan leader. Karakoz possessed the gift of clairvoyance, which she received from her ancestors on her mother's side. Tugel intended to marry her. However, the Kalmyk beauty resisted the batyr and asked to kill, as well as other relatives. Batyr liked the proud and ambitious girl. Only a condition of honoring her as a worthy wife, giving her a separate yurt and servants, and a promise by a Batyr that she would never be insulted, calling her a "prisoner" or "concubine", convinced her to give her consent to Tugel. Kalmyk girl gave her word to the Batyr that she would leave him if she broke her promise. For a long time, the lovers had lived in peace, despite Karakoz's longing for her homeland. However, the other Batyr's wives, obsessed with jealousy, managed to stir up a quarrel between them. In a quarrel, the Batyr insulted Karakoz, forgetting his promise and calling her "a prisoner of the enemy family", "a kindless of the wild tribe". Feeling offended, Karakoz at night escapes from the village of Batyr, leaving the youngest children.

For a long time in search of a fugitive, Tugel Batyr catches up with her in the mountains of Zhetysu Alatau, but, faithfully to his word, tries to convince her without forcing her to return by force. Batyr regrets what he said and asks his wife's forgiveness. True to her word, Karakoz says goodbye to Batyr: "Our agreement was broken, and I left. However, the main reason I left was because of my ancestors' call. My homeland is the most precious thing for me. I am afraid of my ancestors' spirits, I can't stay in a foreign country any longer. I gave you sons: Ankoymas's name was not given to him by chance, he will become a famous hunter, he will be a brave warrior. Our other son, Shuak, will shine like the rays of the sun and live in peace. Heaven will give him good and prosperity. And my Taymas ... he is the one who will raise your prestige, will be your pride. From me, the gifts of clairvoyance and healing will come to him. He will even be able to revive an undecayed dead man. These are my glorious gifts to you and the Kazakh people over the years of a happy life".

Taymas, born of Kalmyk Karakoz, had a special gift of clairvoyance and healing and became very famous in Saryarka. Aulie lived in the middle of the XVIII century. His real name was Botakara. For his special abilities, the people called him "aulie" and he became known as Taymas aulie. One legend has it that once Taymas passed by an aul in which a man endured agony. After feeling this agony, Taymas aulie decided to help and headed for the village. It was only when he arrived in the village that he learned from the villagers the sad news of the recent death of the man. Aulie asked everybody to leave the yurt in a loud voice and began the ritual. He bypassed the corpse of a man and began to whipped the carpet on the walls of the yurt. At the place of the hits, the sound was clear and vivid. In pursuit of supernatural power, the aulie went outside and continued to whip it around the yurt. After a long chase, the tired aulie entered the yurt, at which point the dead man came alive and opened his eyes.

The mausoleum above the grave of Taymas aulie is an important sacred place because of its sanctity in the minds of the region's population. Among the Kazakhs the legends of good deeds, the miraculous power of the aulie have survived. They honor the memory of the Aulie, give memorial dinners and read prayers at his grave.
