Asanas ata, the mausoleum

It is located 15 km south-west of Aydarly village, 40 km southeast of Kyzylorda town (Syrdarya district, Kyzylorda region).

Asanas ata by origin Karakalpak, on the maternal line is a grandfather of the famous aulie Kozhan of the tribe of Kozha. According to legend, his granddaughter is buried here, and the mausoleum was built by Karakalpak craftsmen. Madi (Mahdi)-Diuana kozha, according to some reports, was a holy man who repeatedly made a pilgrimage to Mecca. "Diuana" is an Arabic word. Translation into Kazakh means "wise man". There is a legend that during the pilgrimage, while on foot, he stopped to visit one of the wealthy people of Karakalpakstan. The owners of the house met him very unfriendly, making room for a night at the doorstep. At night the owner woke up from a bright ray of light. When he saw the shining ray coming from the guest, he woke up his wife. After thinking and realizing that the honored guest is not an ordinary man, the owners decided to impersonate his only daughter among the six sons. In the morning they told about their decisions to their sons, they did not agree: "You are not in your right mind, since you decided to give our beautiful sister as some kind of trickster" - and were going to get rid of the guest. They shot the guest several times with a shotgun, but the bullets didn't hurt him. The gentleman who was sitting there killed them magically at once. Everyone died at the same time. Later, realizing the consequences of what had happened and feeling sorry for the elderly, Madi (Mahdi)-Diuana kozha asked: "Should I raise your sons? Or should I ask the Almighty for one son who is worth all six? Then they replied: "Honorable, what happened is all in the past. The fact that they had done something stupid had ruined them. Now give us one worthy son. Baba's prayers were fulfilled, and the old men had a worthy son. He grew up to be a Batyr, who defended his country from the Iranians of that time, a visionary, a wise man. This was the honorable Asanas. The masters of the house gave their daughter in marriage to Madi kozha. After 2-3 months he continued his pilgrimage there.

The mausoleum was mentioned by V.A. Kallaur when he described the hillfort of Asanas. The study of the mausoleum was carried out by E. Baitenov during the preparation of the edition "Code of monuments of the history of culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kyzylorda region".

Asanas Mausoleum is of great value as one of the unexplored monuments of memorial architecture of the late Middle Ages of Kazakhstan. It is erected of burnt bricks of square form - 23×23×5 cm, area - 7,18×8,83 m.

In 2010, restoration works were carried out at the site. Asanas ata mausoleum is a monument of local architecture. The object of tourism.
