Research in the Guryev region

Excavations continued on a medieval settlement in the Aktobe tract near Guryev. An area of ​​about 1200 sq. m, which includes one of the settlement quarters, is limited by streets and alleys. A production furnace was found on its eastern outskirts. Thus, the planning system of the settlement of the 13th-14th centuries was established.

Near Kulagino, a settlement of the late period of the Srubnaya culture was excavated. Exploration work was carried out in the Taisoigan sands and near the Isatai station to the west of Guryev. The Neolithic, Bronze, Early Iron and medieval settlements have been found. Northeast of the village of Raigorodok discovered and explored the fortress of the 16th-17th centuries. It is square in plan, the walls are made of mud. Each wall is 400 m long, 30 m wide and about 6 m high.
