The detachment of the Turgai expedition of the Kostanay Pedagogical Institute continued exploration work in the upper reaches of the Ubagan.
On the left tributary of the Ubagan, the Ashchiboy river, a settlement of the late Bronze Age Akkuduk I was discovered. It occupied a section of the right bank of the river about 20 km upstream of the Semiozernoye village and was partially destroyed during the dam construction. On the Kunduzdy River (the right tributary of the Ubagan), the sites of Kunduzdy I and II were discovered (5 and 19 km from the central estate of the Amangeldy state farm downstream of the river), where finds common for Neolithic sites were collected: cores, arrowheads, scrapers, plates and flakes. Three small fragments of pottery were also found at the Kunduzdy II site. Two new sites were found on the river Atagay (right tributary of the Ubagan) - Duzbay XIV and XV. The first collection is represented by ceramics of the Bronze Age, the second - flint products on plates in ceramics, ornamented with incised lines. South of the Atagay, on the right tributary of the Ubagan, the Buruktal river, five monuments were recorded, including one burial mound. All sites (Chile III, Buruktal I, III, IV) are located on the right bank of the river and contain Neo-Eneolithic flint artifacts in the material. The pottery of these monuments is inexpressive. The mound (Buruktal) is located on the left bank of the river, about 0.5 km from its bed. Its diameter is 31 m, height is 0.7 m. The mound is built of stone and earth. On the Ubagan itself, six sites were found (two on the right bank and four on the left), which yielded flint products of forms common to the Neolithic and Eneolithic. A tall trapezoid was found at the Chili II site and Bronze Age ceramics at the Sulukol IV site.
