Archaeological research in the group of Ordazy sites
In the field season of 2020, studies of a group of Ordazy sites were carried out. As a part of the research, at the Sortobe 1 settlement, dwellings belonging to three building horizons were excavated^ at the settlement Sortobe 2 – living quarters to two building horizons of the citadel of the site ( at the Sortobe 2, four building horizons were also recorded); excavation work was also carried out at the burial ground located to the south Sortobe 2. As a result/ 314 sq.m of all three objects were investigated. According to archaeological data, the settlement of Sortobe 1 dates back to the 8th – 9th centuries AD, and the settlement of Sortobe 2 – 11th – 12th centuries AD.
