Research of the Chizha-Dyurino detachment
The Ural Pedagogical Institute researched the construction areas of irrigation systems in the Kamensky district of the Ural region.
Work continued in the southern half of the right bank of the river Chizha. In the burial mounds of Nogai-Chizha I, II, III, "Kirov I", "Southern Group" 10 mounds with diameters of 18-30 m were investigated, in which 12 burial pits were found.
During survey in the northern part of the lands of the state farm "40 years of the Kazakh SSR", a square-shaped structure of the "Tortkul" type (Caravanserai in Semirechye) 60x80 m in size, the shaft width is 8 m was discovered. At the corners of the structure, distinct projections of defensive towers can be traced. On the inner square of the monument, small elevations, the remains of buildings, have been preserved.
Only in the "Kirov I" group, in mounds 3 and 4, one undisturbed burial was found, made according to the rite of the monuments of the Prokhorov and Late Sarmatian cultures. Ceramic vessels were found in the Prokhorov burial in pit 3 of barrow 4. Of the two jug-shaped vessels, one is red-lacquered, large, with a loop-shaped handle, of high-quality craft - undoubtedly an imported vessel. The other one, of a similar shape, half the size, is a copy of the first one, apparently made in the steppes of the Urals. Late Sarmatian burial with a north-western orientation; a small mirror and a bit of a peculiar shape were found in it.
